Lucille Clifton, 1936-2010


I just found out Lucille Clifton passed away yesterday. It's always sad when a laureate passes on, especially one still so active in the poetry community. She was scheduled to be a special guest at Squaw Valley this summer, among other engagements.

    Oh, this is sad news! She visited the U in my first year (I think?), told great stories and reminded me a lot of my grandmother.
